Obama administration czar, Carol Browner, major player in climate change agenda

Issue: Despite the uproar in conservative and internet circles over the leaked emails that detail how so-called climate scientists in England rigged the data to support man-made global warming claims, Carol Browner, White House climate czar, dismissed the findings. Before being named energy and climate czar, Browner was administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under President Clinton and is a former member of the Socialist International Commission. She also served on the board of directors of the Audubon Society, the League of Conservation Voters, Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection and APX which describes itself as a “bank and mint for environmental commodities” including carbon credits.
Carol Browner’s importance in climate change legislation and carbon trading is mostly hidden from view. As a “czar” she was not required to submit herself to scrutiny or approval by the U.S. Senate, yet she has more influence and control over energy and environmental issues than the Secretary of Energy or the administrator of the EPA and is steering Obama’s cap-and-trade agenda through Congress. One reason Browner became czar instead of being appointed to a position needing Senate confirmation may have been to avoid questioning about EPA documents that were shredded just as the Clinton administration was leaving office in violation of a court order. Browner was not held in contempt of court but would have faced intense questioning.
The emails Browner dismisses are between scientists that supply data for the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and show these same scientists trying to fudge the data to please the IPCC and its agenda. Here are a few excerpts:
√ “I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. (9/5/09)
√The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. (10/14/09)
√ I tried hard to balance the needs of the science and the IPCC , which were not always the same.
Comment: To deny what these emails show is indeed chutzpah at its best!
Comment: The ultimate question to Ms. Browner regarding the East Anglia emails will be: what did she know and when did she know it.
