Fighting our “Betters”, once again

by Tom Randall

Chicago, 2020—In these days, when American history is taboo in many of our colleges and universities and misconstrued by the media, it’s easy to forget why our founders began leaving Europe 400 years ago. The process actually began in 1517, when a Catholic monk named Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses for reformation of the Church to a parish door in Wittenberg, Germany.  He created more than one of the greatest religious schisms in history. In doing so, he also sowed the seeds of the greatest restructuring of society since folks began living in caves— the political reformation. After all, many began to think, if Luther was right that we are all equal in the eyes of God, and He …

Defeating coronavirus would be impossible without energy workers who power the fight

by Daniel Turner
Fox News

“You may not have thought of the roughly 14 million men and women working in our energy industry as having anything to do with the war against the coronavirus.  Ventilators and a great deal of other life-saving medical equipment are useless without electric power. Scientists in labs can’t conduct their research in dark rooms during a blackout. And plastic – a vital part of medical equipment, phones, and thousands of products used in health care and every other part of our lives – is made with oil or natural gas,” according to Fox News.

President Trump’s Fuel Economy Rule a Win for Consumers and Automakers

American Energy Alliance

“The American Energy Alliance welcomed the final Safer Affordable Fuel Efficient (SAFE) Vehicles Rule released by the White House today noting that clear auto fuel efficiency standards can benefit a majority of consumers and automakers simultaneously. Contrary to claims that this final rule has been rushed out in a time of crisis, the rule is the culmination of a several years long joint process from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and it is required by the law.”

Solar Panels Perform Poorly in Minnesota During Winter Months

Institute for Energy Research

“Solar power is not always beneficial, particularly in certain northern U.S. states where solar irradiance is not the best. In Minnesota the capacity factor of solar fell to 5.6 percent in December 2018, the time of year when it is darkest and cold weather begins to set in. Solar power loses its performance value due to shorter days in winter, snowfall reflecting light, and the expense of removing snow from solar panels.  Some states are losing interest in solar power due to environmental concerns when forests need to be cleared and hilltops leveled to make room for solar panels. It appears that as more is learned about solar energy, more questions are being generated, even when electricity from solar panels …

For New York, Coal Is Out and Renewables Are In

Institute for Energy Research

“New York’s belief that solar and wind power are ‘clean and renewable’ is false. Fossil fuels, on the other hand, are readily accessible right here in America, affordable, and have much smaller environmental footprints than the renewable energy that environmentalists and many states are promoting,” according to the Institute for Energy Research.

EPA suspends enforcement of environmental laws amid coronavirus

by Rebecca Beitsch
The Hill

“The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a sweeping suspension of its enforcement of environmental laws Thursday, telling companies they would not need to meet environmental standards during the coronavirus outbreak.  The temporary policy, for which the EPA has set no end date, would allow any number of industries to skirt environmental laws, with the agency saying it will not ‘seek penalties for noncompliance with routine monitoring and reporting obligations,’” according to The Hill.

The Latest Victim of COVID-19 Is the Second Amendment

by Bob Barr
TownHall.com

“The latest victim of the COVID-19 pandemic is not a health care worker, a first responder, or a cruise line traveler.  The purveyor is not an invisible microbe.  The perpetrators of the latest assault on men and women in cities and states across the country are left-wing governors and mayors who have decided the pandemic provides a convenient excuse to deny law abiding citizens the freedom to exercise their Second Amendment rights,” according to Bob Barr on TownHall.com.
